The venerable
Cowchipper handlebar from
Salsa has morphed into it's latest iteration with four goals in mind. Less weight, less deflection, more vibration dampening, and more room to mount accessories. The team at
Salsa has heard incredible feedback since the
Cowchipper was launched just a few years ago. As gravel bikes get lighter, and rides get longer, the one thing customers have been longing for is simply a lighter bar. The
Carbon Cowchipper weighs 75 grams less than its aluminum mate.
The
Carbon Cowchipper isn''t just about weight. The gravel gets choppier year over year and this
Cowchipper is made to handle the worst you can throw at it. Seemingly sucking up harsh vibration and feedback as if you are on a tame road ride, your hands and wrists will hardly know the difference thanks to the optimal compaction of the layers of carbon and resin.
While all of these features are great, the single piece we are most excited about is the extra wide clamping area across the top of the bar. Accessories like aerobars,
Handlebar Bags,
Anything Cradles, and the like all have ample room to attach to the bar. The 140mm wide clamping surface is also great for computers, lights, and any other accessories you may need on your next adventure.
The
Carbon Cowchipper still tests to the same ISO 4210 Mountain loads as the aluminum version did. Rest assured that this durable carbon bar will never let you down.

The width and flare of
Salsa carbon handlebars can often make wrapping them with the standard two rolls of tape a challenge. We recommend picking up the
Salsa Cycles Glyph Tape.
Glyph Tape is cut slightly longer to accommodate the longer, flared out handlebars.
