Surly, like us know a couple Nate's that are large and overly aggressive so they named their most aggressive 4" fat bike tire after him. The
Surly Nate fat bike tire has a round profile with tall widely spaced knobs. For added traction, the knobs are siped which increases the surface area while adding more compliance. These knobs extend around the sidewall of the tire to provide the
Nate grip in conditions most tires would give up on.
Surly designed the
Nate to be used with their 85mm wide Other Brother Darryl rim for a nice rounded profile, but the
Nate will fit on rims as narrow as 50mm and up to 100mm wide but with a more squared profile than the rounded shape shown in the photos. If you are curious how the
Nate will measure up on your rim, the really smart people at
Surly (well they have that one guy in the back) have created a tire geometry chart
here.
- Best paired with 85mm rims
- Ideal pressure range is below 10psi
- Surly''s most aggressive 4'' fat bike tire
- Not recommended for tubeless applications
