The Salsa Fargo fork is the same fork found on Salsa's Fargo 29er touring bike. The Fargo fork is suspension corrected to 80mm, so it could be the key piece of the puzzle you are looking for to pack your bags and head off to a far off land.
The Fargo fork has dual threaded mid-blade mounts to work with front racks such as the Salsa Down Under Rack. The back of each of the Fargo''s fork legs feature mounts for use with standard water bottle cages or if bigger loads are required Salsa''s super versatile Anything Cages.
One key feature most Salsa forks use are stainless steel forward facing drop-outs which help prevent the front wheel from coming off in the event that the quick release should fail. They also make installing and removing the wheel from the fork when equipped with fenders much easier.

The bottle cages are offset behind the rack mounts, so you should be able to, provided your front rack doesn't extend behind the rack mounts on the fork.

I was thinking I really didn't need a front shock doing Cross country. I saved 3 pounds by installing the fargo Rigid front fork. The fork has some decent flex to it, so it doesn't wear you out. I will not go back to a front shock for xc.
I had a hell of a time getting the headset ring installed onto the fork. It was a really tight, like I didn't think it was going to fit at all tight fit.
This is a great product and it makes me want a salsa bike. Perhaps this spring.
