Q.
asked by: Edi2113
Could this go with a single gear?
A.
anwered by: canteau
The chain you use for a single speed is based off of the chainring and cog you use. Commonly single speeds are designed for 8-speed (3/32") chains.

tswelshGood chain. I like the quick links. This chain was stiffer than others, would not shift well on first ride. Settled in on 2nd and subsequent rides.

lonnfianceThis is my standard go-to chain. I really like the PowerLink feature that makes maintenance and cleaning much easier. I also carry spare (or old) PowerLink in my pack for on-trail repairs for myself or others. These chains are plenty strong as my rides include lots of climbing and I am not a lightweight.

A GuestThis has been my go-to chain for my 7 to 9sp bikes. I like the all nickel plating; it helps with rust reduction and a bit of an improvement on shifting. I definitely like the Powerlink, since I prefer to remove the chain for a good cleaning. I've used this chain on my winter commuter, mountain bike, and CX/commuter bike. I've never had any problems with excessive rusting (if maintained properly) or premature stretching (I have yet to replace one because of stretching).
