gru...@ya...o.comFor tubeless, the tire seats with no fuss, and no sealant leaks out through the spoke holes or bead interface. That's because the wheel comes with DT tubeless rim tape factory preinstalled, which will be fine for either tubed or tubeless setups, although either way you'll have to poke a hole through the tape for the valve stem.
The rim is hooked, which I think is a good thing for a gravel bike tubeless setup where you might occasionally want to run higher pressures for road rides without worrying about blowouts.
The rim's cross section is fairly deep compared to a traditional box section rim, so the 35mm presta valve I used was barely long enough to give a pump head something to grab onto. That depth may be responsible for the wheel weighing in at a slightly porky 1100 g (only 18 g more than advertised), but that's no big deal given the massive 47mm tire I'm mounting on it. I don't think the rim's depth is enough for any aero advantage; I think the cross section was chosen for rigidity, which pairs nicely with big cushy tires.
I set this wheel up on the truing stand to check, and it's true and round to within about two thicknesses of standard copy paper -- less than 0.2mm of error either way. Spoke tensions were uniform to within about 33%. That's for practical purposes as good a wheel as if I'd laced it up and trued it myself. I might tweak it a bit more, but it wouldn't really be any better.
This is an excellent value-oriented choice for a replacement or spare wheel on a 650b gravel or randonneuring bike. You can slap it on your bike and ride it hard with no worries.
