Wolf Tooth combines their Drop-Stop technology with a proprietary 10% elliptical design, with 112 degrees of timing. Why go oval? Elliptical chainrings effectively give you the feel of 2 less chainrings at the weakest part of your pedal stroke and 2 additional teeth at the strongest. The Elliptical chainrings feel this way because the radius of the chainring is constantly changing throughout the rotation.

When purchasing a Wolf Tooth Elliptical chainring please keep this mind, if your frame has a maximum chainring size of 32t, the largest elliptical chainring you can use is a 30t because it has at its widest diameter the same size as a 32t.
