The Salsa Cutthroat is capable of using a 1x chainring up to 38t in size. X9 bikes will need to use a 4-bolt chainring in the BCD size listed on your crank as some has 104/64mm and some had 120/80mm. 2016 Rival 1 Cutthroat builds can be used with GXP direct mount chainrings.
