RPM Speed Sensor with Bluetooth/ANT+

I wanted something to improve the distance recorded by GPS based apps (like Strava) when riding mountain bike in tree covered areas. I bought the WAhoo RPM Speed Sensor in late 2020 or early 2021 and used it with the Wahoo Fitness mobile app. It worked great, so I bought two more for my other bikes. But then in late 2021 or early 2022, the recorded distance became wildly inaccurate. In fact, the recorded distance was worse than it was before when using the GPS based app by itself (without the sensor synced to the app). I began to dig into it and found that the wheel circumference was being overwritten during each activity. I entered a ticket with Wahoo customer service, and after about 2 months they finally admitted that this is a known bug on recent versions of the mobile app. AND they have assigned resolution of this bug with the "lowest priority" in their issue system. In fact the customer service rep actually told me to not plan on this getting resolved.
