Trail Boss Tire - 27.5 x 2.40 Tough/Fast Rolling, TriTec, SG1 IP+ E50

WTB Trail Boss Tire in 27.5 x 2.40 is a fast-rolling mountain bike tire built to carry speed on hardpack and mixed trail while still delivering reliable braking bite and confident cornering. Tight center tread spacing reduces rolling resistance, while taller, blockier knobs provide the mechanical edge needed when it’s time to scrub speed.

A rounded profile and staggered, supported side knobs help the Trail Boss hold traction as trails get loose, steep, or off-camber—making it a proven rear-tire choice for riders who want efficiency without giving up control. It’s commonly paired with a WTB Vigilante up front for a balanced front/rear setup focused on steering grip and rear speed.

• Fast-Rolling Rear-Tire Tread - Tight knob spacing helps maintain speed on hardpack and smoother singletrack without feeling sketchy when the trail gets rough
• Braking Control Under Load - Blocky, taller tread design improves digging power when braking hard on steeps or in loose-over-hard conditions
• Rounded Profile with Supported Side Knobs - Predictable lean-in feel and improved grip when cornering through changing camber
• TCS Tough Fast-Rolling Casing - 2-ply casing with TCS aramid bead for riders prioritizing durability and stability over pure weight savings
• Dual Compound DNA Rubber (60a center / 50a sides) - Firmer center compound supports speed and wear; softer side compound improves cornering traction
• TriTec Compound - Three-layer rubber construction: high-durometer base supports the tread, with medium-stiffness center knobs and softer side knobs for balanced traction, support, and durability
• SG1 IP+ / E50 - Built with WTB’s SG1 IP+ protection and E50 rating for riders spec’ing a tougher trail casing
