The Velo Orange Grand Cru series of Bottom Brackets is great alternative to loose ball bearing square tapered bottom bracket. Just because you're using a older crank or an older frame doesn''t mean that the bike doesn''t deserve to be ridden with high quality parts. This bottom bracket is built to perform and to last.
anwered by: canteau It will depend on the bottom bracket thread of the Peugeot. Older Peugeot models were French threaded and newer ones use the more common English threading. This version of the Grand Cru is English threaded but they do also make a French version.
Both English and French bottom brackets us a 68mm frame shell width, but the English threaded bottom brackets have the drive side (fixed cup) thread to the Left and French threaded drive side cups will thread to the Right, which is the easiest way to tell.
The threading is also different, English is 1.375" x 24 TPI and French is 35x1mm (1.378" x 25.4TPI)

I pulled out a low end cartridge bearing that went bad at 3000 miles. I replace it with this bearing on our tandem having both new and old in my hands I noticed a quality difference. Tandems put more stress on the bottom bracket due to the drive chain pressure (OK I may have it a little too tight) and the combined weight of two riders. Having stated that it has now been on our Tandem for a year and it's as smooth as the day I replaced it, so it's well worth the money.
