Grand Cru 50.4 MK II Crankset

This is the second version of the classic Velo Orange Grand Cru 50.4 cranks. Featuring improved chainrings, and more clearance between the crank arms and chainrings for easier front derailleur setup. The arms have also been re-machined to shed some weight and have been stiffened up.

Classic cranks like the Grand Cru are sought after by randonneurs and touring cyclists for the tremendous versatility, light weight, and narrow Q-factor offered by these cranks. These aren't as old-school as they look though, with cold forged 7075 aluminum arms, and modern ramps and pins on the chainrings, these offer the same stiffness and smooth shifting as many modern crank designs.

This crankset uses a standard JIS square taper bottom bracket, which is easy to find so you''re not left stranded looking for some odd proprietary bottom bracket type. Most road frames with 130mm rear spacing will want to use a 118mm BB spindle length, bikes with a 135mm rear spacing and using larger tires may need a 122mm BB spindle with a spacer.
