This headset looks right on touring rigs. The cartridge bearings look like very high quality. No special adaptations are needed to install. I had it done at a local shop equipped to face the head tube on a new bike. This headset is also an unknown. My bike shop is a high volume shop with several mechanics. They had never seen, nor heard of Velo-Orange headset. I did have a queasy feeling when they took it out of the box and looked at it as if to say "I wonder what off-brand this is." Only time will tell. I found out Velo-Orange has a very high polish model available for a higher price. I would have bought that model if I had know about it. There is nothing particularly beautiful about this headset. The satin finish is pretty plain looking
