VP-59 DH Race Pedal

I bought these pedals for their light weight and relatively low cost. They have proven to be reliable and durable, as I have had several rock strikes on them with no problems. I have one problem with them though, not enough grip. there are only 5 pins per side, and the center ridge sticks up about the same distance as the pins which takes away from the grip as well. I ride with flat soled shoes though, so a shoe with concave in the mid foot area may alleviate this problem.

Love the look, feel and weight of these pedals. They were by far my favorite platforms for a few days... Then they started to bend! In the defense of the pedal, I weight about 225lbs and was using them for street riding and trials. After a few days of hard landings I began to feel the center area of the pedal through my shoe. It's barely visible, but the front and rear of the pedals were lowly bending under the stress of my riding. There's just not much material there to take the load. I've since relegated them to a commuter bike, where they serve well. I'd recommended these to anyone who won't be using them for BMX, trials, or freeriding where high impact landings will be part of their daily experience.
