I bought the Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 bag to hold my 15" MacBook Pro as well my 4 text books. While it is heavy, it is still very manageable. The Bag feels very solid and not cheap. I actually bought one for my girlfriend for Christmas, she liked hers so much I purchased one for myself. I highly Recommend this bag if you need to carry text books as well as a laptop.

It would have been a much better bag if the storage compartment were independent and separate from the lap top part. I carry a 15" machine it pushes into the other compartment and leaves little space for other things. Also the strap is not attached the same way other Timbuk2 messenger bags are. The strap is clipped on for removal but that causes the strap to twist up, so your constantly untwisting the strap.
