asked by: a guest Can I use front lever w/ Cinelli Bullhorn or Valencia City Bar & Campy Veloce front brake?
A.
anwered by: canteau If either of the handlebars has a 31.8 clamp section, yes.
These are designed to be used in conjunction with a traditional brake lever as an optional braking option. Use without the additional brake lever will give results anywhere from poor to great depending on cable friction and the strength of the return spring on the caliper brake.

asked by: a guest What kind of cable do I use with these brakes? Road or Mountain?
A.
anwered by: bhardy Those brakes are designed to be used with road brake levers. You can use them on their own with either kind of cable, but the end of the cable will hang out a little.

I tried to use these with my v-brake set up, but forgot all about the pull difference needed. They are quality levers, however the brake feel wasnt good with v-brakes which is not what they are meant for.
Tektro does make an inline lever for v-brakes, which I found out later. I ended up getting rid of mine because I found I never used them. It wasn't that much harder to just move my hand and brake from the hood. I'd say they really aren't nessessary for most people once you get used to braking on drop bars.
