So, they're kind of pricey, but I use them for moving the axle (wheel) forward or rearward (depending on whether it's rear or front facing dropout). I use these mostly for limiting the range of a rear wheel with a forward facing drop out on a vintage bike when I want to mount fenders. Nothing else I've found does the job.
