This is the most sturdy stable bike I have owned. The 1 x 11 drive train is super smooth. The 32 tooth gearing is a little low for city riding and changing out the chainring is tricky because of the asymmetric cranks -*something to consider if you are using this as a commuter ride* but that is a minor gripe. The first thing I did when I got this bike (shipped super fast to NYC) was change out the grips, the ones provided are puny and offer no real cushion. But again a minor issue.
There is tons of mounting options on this bike should you want to set it up for touring/bikpacking.
I look forward to many years of adventures on my Surly Bridge Club.
