Sturmey-Archer S1C 1sp Coaster Brake Hub is a clean, durable solution for building or rebuilding a single-speed rear wheel with reliable backpedal braking—ideal for cruisers, utility bikes, and classic city builds where simplicity and low maintenance matter most.

With a roller-operated coaster brake, the S1C keeps the drivetrain uncluttered by cables and levers while delivering controlled braking through the hub. A 6061 aluminum hub shell helps keep weight reasonable for the category, and the M10 solid axle is well-suited to everyday riding and load-carrying use.
