It's about time the UCI approved disc brakes for competition. With recent rule changes, the world is growing vaster for those who race cross and utilize cross bikes for everything else. Since disc brakes had been banned in Internationally sanctioned cross events for years, brake manufacturers had no reason to develop and manufacture disc brakes for drop bars. And since they''re are very few options available, most companies are behind on that development.
Soma was ahead of the game and developed a versatile cross frame that can be toured as well as it can be raced. If you want to use a rack in conjunction with disc brakes, make sure to grab a rack designed for disc brakes. These are available from Topeak, Axiom, or Delta.
