Shimano's IceTech rotors were some of the coolest running rotors you could buy because of their 3 layer construction of steel/aluminum/steel. The
RT99 rotors take the 3 layer construction and adds aluminum cooling fins to create what Shimano calls Freeza. When compared to an all stainless rotor the rotors with
Freeza technology reduce temperatures by 300 degrees F under hard braking. Reduced heat means less brake fade, less pad glazing and allows you to run smaller rotors with the same amount of cooling as a larger rotor for reduced weight. The
140mm version is great for road disc or XC bikes.
The
Shimano RT99 rotor comes with a lockring for standard hubs, if you are going to use this rotor with a thru-axle hub you will need the oversize lockring that can be found
here.
- Includes standard lockring
- Works with all Shimano brakes
- Freeza 3ply rotor with cooling fins
Shimano''s RT99 centerlock rotors are the most effective rotor Shimano has produced to dissipate heat.
