RS685 Hydraulic Disc Brake STI Lever

Shimano's RS685 STI levers bring the stopping power enjoyed by mountain bikers to your road, cross or touring bike. Brake calipers and rotors are not included with the RS685 STI levers and while the RS685 will work with any of Shimano disc calipers the following calipers are designed for the needs of road cyclists:

• Shimano RS785 for 74mm post mount and 51mm IS mount frames and forks
• Shimano RS505 for Flat Mount frames and forks

Like all of Shimano''s hydraulic disc brakes the RS685 STI levers use mineral oil and feature Shimano''s easy one way bleed process.

The Left RS685 STI shifter is designed to work with double cranksets and has the same cable pull as the current 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace 11-speed groups. Shimano changed the cable pull ratio when they redesigned these groups so it will not work with older generation shifters.

The Right STI shifter is designed to work with Shimano 11-speed road groups and is full compatible with 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace groups. Shimano 11-speed road and Shimano 11-speed mountain groups use different cable pull ratios and are not cross compatible out of the box. You can run the Wolf Tooth Tanpan if you prefer to run a clutch style rear derailleur.

Both the left and right Shimano RS685 STI shifter feature10mm of reach adjustment to fit tune the ergonomics to your hand size.
