Depending on the size of the bike and how the cables are run, it might. The road kit includes shorter amounts of housing than the mountain version does.

The SP-40 is only available in black, the nicer SP-41 kit with PTFE cables is available in red.

Derailleur cables are almost always braided.

Yes the kit includes enough material to re-cable most standard bike shifting systems. If your bike requires more than 1.7m of housing you may want to look at one of the extra long kits offered by Jagwire or Gore.
