It will work if the Trek has a cassette rear hub. If the rear hub uses a freewheel, then it will not.

Yes, this is compatible with Shimano and SRAM 8-10 speed freehub bodies.

11-28: 11 13 15 17 19 21 24 28
11-30: 11 13 15 17 20 23 26 30
11-32: 11 13 15 18 21 24 28 32
