We take extra care to ensure your bike arrives ready to ride. Our meticulous build and testing process can take up to 4 business days in addition to the ships by date shown before your bike is ready to ship.
This attention to detail guarantees that your bike will be easy to assemble on arrival. Please note that most bikes do not come with pedals. To make the most of your new bike right away, be sure to select a pair of pedals when checking out and we will include them with the build! The Beargrease has always been Salsa's fast, trail-oriented fat bike, but the latest generation makes it considerably more versatile. The move to 27.5" wheels with clearance for tires up to 4.5" gives the Beargrease a larger footprint, plenty of flotation, and improved rollover, while also allowing it to cover the territory previously split between the Beargrease and Salsa's larger-tire Heyday! and Mukluk.
The stock 27.5 x 4.5" setup gives you a capable combination of flotation, traction, and rollover without making the bike feel cumbersome on the trail. If you want to tune the bike for different terrain or conditions, the frame also accommodates 26 x 4.8" and 29 x 3.0" wheel and tire combinations.
The aluminum frame is paired with an alloy fork, SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission shifting, a TranzX dropper post, and plenty of mounts for carrying gear. Whether you're riding snowy singletrack, exploring backcountry trails, or building a bikepacking rig, the Beargrease gives you the flexibility to set it up around the ride.
