I cannot picture how it would attach to my bike. I am looking for something that I can use to carry weight on the front tire of a suspension 4 inch fat bike tire of 29" tall. I can not seem to find anything that will work. Please post suggestions.

The Salsa Downunder rack is designed for touring style forks that have mid-blade mounting points, this rack will not work with a suspension fork.

Will this rack fit a 2000 Trek 520?

For that particular bike, another front rack might work better. Try searching item # 333222406999 from our homepage! Should be a better fit. Hope this helps.

Which rack, the Down Under or Down Under HD works with my 2018 Fargo? Thanks. Or will they both work?
A.
anwered by: canteau
They will both work, the Down Under is for smaller loads and the HD is for heavier loads or touring situations that require strength vs weight savings.

Does it fit the Surly Ice Cream Truck?
A.
anwered by: canteau
The Salsa Down Under Rack should work on the Surly Ice Cream Truck as long as your fork has the mid-blade eyelets on both the inside and outside of the fork leg.

A GuestI bought this Salsa Rack to use on my Salsa Marrakesh tour bike. As expected, it fit the Salsa bike very well. Like just about everything you buy these days this rack did not come with installation instructions but they were readily available on line and easy to follow. I've seen a lot of these installed and almost none with the carrying bar parallel to the ground as described in the instruction manual. I also have SKS fenders installed with the rack. I intend to use these with Ortlieb front rollers and that was a bit problematic. To get the lower mounting clamp to work with this rack I had to take off the lower mounting bracket on the front rollers and turn it upside down. Otherwise they wouldn't fit this rack. I'm not a big fan of Ortlieb mounting system but that's another story.
