rtmunronote: i'm 5'10", 32" inseam, 31" waist. bought the large. I did not ride in these shorts. Returned after trying them on due to some fit issues.
Generally very comfortable. The light weight fabric combined with well placed stretch panels make the shorts feel like they aren't even there (at least during my in-home testing. running up the stairs and doing a couple knee bends/lunges). I'd imagine they would be quite comfortable on a long ride in warm weather.
I had a few issues with the fit. Some based purely on personal preference. While standing the shorts ended about 3" below my knee. Seated, they ended across my kneecap. The fabric is light enough that it wasn't irritating. The elastic waist was tight but I wouldn't say uncomfortable. Fabric bunched and puffed up a bit strangely above the elastic creating the illusion of using a tight belt to hold up pants that are 6" too big. I suppose they used enough fabric to allow the elastic to stretch fully, but when in a normal relaxed state it results in a bunching effect. I found the included belt to be contradictory to the heavy duty elastic waist band. Make the belt tight enough that the buckle doesn't sag and it constricts the elastic (and your gut) from expanding. Leave the belt loose enough to enjoy the benefits of expanding elastic in the waist band, and the buckle dangles freely while you're in a relaxed position. Also, there is no fly. Not a big deal really just something I noticed. Might make quick access difficult during a pit-stop.
In my opinion, if they used this truly excellent material & design, but instead stiched on a normal waist band adjustable w/a couple side straps, added a zipper fly w/snap and shortened the length by about 4" it would be a truly great warm weather riding short.

A GuestThumbs up, good gusset, fit is a little large, I'm a 36-38 size and the 36 fits great. Length is great, I'm a 33 inseam and the shorts are just at the knee. Caught a front wheel last week and did a big leaping step and the shorts didn't feel binding on what had to be an aerial splits. I feel comfortable comparing them to an $80 pair I own. Liked them so much I got a second pair! My only dislike is while the belt and belt loops work fine, they seem like a lower quality from the rest of the shorts, like an afterthought.
