This is an excellent all around tire for times when you're not sure what tire to use, and a favorite here at Tree Fort. With a low profile but grippy center it has larger knobs as you go down the sidewall. This makes the Speedmax fast across the flats but super tight in the corners.

I have ridden and raced a pair of these tires on my cross bike for over a year now and I would not recommend them. My main complaint is that the rubber seems to be made of a plastic that doesn't stick to anything. I believe a good tire should wear with use and the fact that I can still see the molding flash after many road and gravel miles tells me all I need to know.
Also, the side knobs don't really work and just add weight.
Finally, the sidewall-to-bead connection gave out on one of them.
