The SG-6 Threadless Saw Guide ensures a straight, clean cut on 1", 1-1/8", and 1-1 4" threadless forks. Simply clamp the SG-6 onto the fork and cut, letting the SG-6 guide the hacksaw blade. The SG-6's non scratching composite body incorporates steel threads and a steel reinforcing plate to withstand the rigors of heavy shop use.

I have just started doing all my own maintenance on my bikes including building a Volume Thrasher and in the process of building a Leader 722ts. I have cut forks, handlebars, seat post etc. all with this guide and it is perfect every time....Definitely a must for any mechanic, an awesome tool!
In the past I've used a pipe cutter to cut steerer tubes down. For each project I try to buy a new tool, and this was the one I chose this time through. While a pipe cutter certainly works, this tool is quicker and easier. I'm happy to have it in my toolbox for future projects.
Summed up: Makes shortening steerer tubes quick and easy - great addition to any toolbox.
Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Got tired of begging friends with the right tools to help me out or taking my stuff in to the shops for work & stocked up on the good stuff from Park. The SG-6 has been great - lines up a perfect cut and is dirt-simple to use. Glad I picked it up!
Thought this was a great tool made it easy to cut the fork to height. The only thing to consider is the width of the guide is about 5mm and you need to cut 3mm from top of stack. Trying to see the line once it is inserted requires measuring a line for line up the out side of the guide not the cutting line
