Park PolyLube is great bang for the buck, a whole tub that will last longer than you, unless you have a lot of bikes of course.
The only down side that I can think of is that it comes in the tub, and the only way to properly apply it is to get your fingers in it. Of course you can dabble with q-tips, toothpicks, etc...but it'd take forever!
Summed up: For most people, this one tub o' grease is all your gonna need for most bicycle applications.
Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.
Works for: Bearings
Dislikes: Messy

This is by far the best way to buy your grease.
It's cheap, green, greasy, and lasts for ever.
What more could you want?
And, a good way to serve it up is with a tablespoon.
you probably won't want to use it in your cap'n crunch after that....
Whoever said they disliked that it was messy, doesn't get it.
This stuff is amazing, and smells like roses compared to some of the other stuff on the market.
Just remember, this lube is only suitable for bikes: bearings, seatposts, and stems. Seek out other lubes for otherwise-oriented lubing needs.
