Have you ever tried to pull a chainring off with just an allen key? It's not fun - at all. The bolt starts spinning, and from there it''s just a downward spiral of stabbing yourself with teeth and cursing.
Avert a mechanical crisis with the Park CNW-2 chainring nut wrench. Specifically designed to fit in the grooves on the backside of chainring bolts, this baby holds steady when you need it to and until you get the job done.

This is a really worthwhile tool if you are disassembling chainrings. Its hard to find a thin enough, but wide enough screwdriver to fit the slots in the nuts.
A little flimsy and hard to grip, but this tool and judicious use of a propane torch did eventually get my chainring bolts loose. Not bad for the price, but I would have gladly paid a little more for something stronger and more ergonomic.
