The BBT-9 is used to remove and install Shimano Hollowtech II and FSA MegaExo bottom brackets. One end of the BBT-9 securely engages the 16 notches of the bottom bracket cups, while the other end engages the 8 internal splines of the crank arm adjustment cap.
This wrench will help you install and maintain most of your modern external bottom brackets. It's designed to fit most 16 notch external bottom bracket cups from brands such as
Shimano Hollowtech II
Campagnolo Ulta-Torque and Power Torque
Race Face
FSA
SRAM
Truvativ
Chris King
Phil Wood outboard bearing
It also fits most lockrings used on centerlock hubs. On the opposite end of the wrench, it features a preload tool found most commonly on Shimano branded cranks.
The wrench is constructed from durable steel and makes use of a rubberized grip so your hand won''t slip when installing or removing a bottom bracket.

Same tool used in all LSB's. We have tried the Pedros BB external cup removal wrench and it flexed causing it to slip off the cups. The Park BBT-9 is the best BB tool I have used to date.
I purchased this tool to replace my GXP bottom bracket. I was originally a little hesitant to purchase because I wouldn't know if I was applying the appropriate torque. I ended up purchasing and it works great. Simple, easy to use and offers the Park Tool quality you've come to expect.
I bought the Park BBT-9 Bottom Bracket Tool initially for the plastic "gear" that removes the crank arm adjustment cap. I found the tool gets in the way of easily gripping and turning the gear to remove the cap. It would be handier if the tool engaged the gear and you could turn the whole assembly like a fixed wrench. The tool itself is up to Park standards - well built and sturdy. I'm sure the bottom bracket tool will work great when I need it.
park has monopolized the bike tool market for
good reason, and i bought this one from tree fort bcos they had the best price. . . and excellent service when i had an issue with delivery (not their fault). anyway, the tool is sturdy, made to last and easy to use
