Fork Pack Front Pannier - 4.1L

I recently got a pair of the 5.8L fork packs. The mounting system is clever, the bags are waterproof, and the system is lighter weight that an alternatives like the tailfin fork packs. But that's about all I can say for positives. There a few warnings I'd offer to any potential buyers, which may or may not matter in your case: 1. The bolt flanges for the suspension fork mount bolts are way way too small - I found that even at <1 nm of torque the bolts will start digging through the plastic plate...and into your fork. Thanks Ortlieb for the 2 new holes in my rockshox! Fixed with a metal washer, but still, this is extremely poor design 2. If you are mounting them on a suspension fork it's very impractical to take the plastic mounting plate on/off 3. The biggest issue IMO - they are nowhere near as secure as advertised!! Ortlieb says "don't jump" with them, but what they don't say is "don't hit any potholes." I've found the bag will eject on moderate bumps with only 2 lbs in the thing. Again, fixed with a voile strap but the whole point of this system is that it's a QL system that doesn't require cages straps
