On One started out with their award winning Inbred singlespeed frame. They wanted a 700c wheeled road bike that had the same charms and character as the Inbred, but that would eat up tarmac, take on traffic and ride wherever riders wanted to go. They wanted to fit big tires, mudguards, racks, bottle cages. They wanted MTB compatability for hubsets so they could keep their product range compact, but they wanted to be able to fit road wheels if need.
For geometry, they used Cinelli's proven semi-compact geometry, twiddled a bit to allow even more adjustment. MTB riders and road riders will get on with this frame really well.
What material? They used a custom drawn DN6 aerospace 4130 chromoly to give a great ride with their unique rear triangle design to maximise lateral drivetrain stiffness, but not at the expense of vertical compliance and frame comfort. They slimmed down the wishbone to make it sexier, lighter, cleaner and more roadie.
