2012 RIP 9 Frame

We noticed something at our last Niner demo; everyone who took out the RIP 9 came back with an unmistakably big grin on their face. The RIP 9 seems to have a way of pouring all the fun back into that familiar trial, handling the rocks, roots, and swooping turns with grace, while you ride faster than ever before until that familiar smile is stuck across your face. The Niner RIP 9 really is the one-bike quiver, able to take the apprehension out of trying that tough new trail the locals are warning you about, and tackling long, unimproved trails with miles of climbing all in the same day.

The CVA™ suspension used on the RIP 9 is the only full suspension designed to take advantage of the unique geometry of 29ers. With the lower swingarm linkage underneath the bottom bracket, chain torque neutralizes the power loss that most other designs encounter. CVA is different from other parallel link designs in that it works to remain fully active while isolating pedal forces under all conditions, and across all chainrings. The RIP 9 CVA™ suspension technology gives the rear wheel 4.5" of smooth, efficient, active suspension travel while the geometry has been tweaked to utilize the latest 120mm travel forks giving the R.I.P. 9 that perfect all-mountain balance.
