feejerfiendI used this for the first time today on my mountain bike. It works well with my 26" Mavic Crossland wheels, and is pretty quiet.
The range of resistance doesn't seem that great at first, but I was happy setting it to 3 or 4, and using my bike's gears to provide the additional resistance. It's possible to really get your heart rate up in a high gear, and standing up and hammering on the pedals. The trainer is solid and stable enough for that.
The only nitpick I have is the wheels providing the resistance need to be aligned very carefully with the rim (otherwise the tire might rub), which I gather isn't a problem with traditional trainers. But then you don't have to worry about getting a special tire, or having it wear out. You will need to adjust 3 hex bolts to align the wheels, so if you switch bikes, be prepared to spend 5 - 10 minutes doing so. If you only plan to use one bicycle on this, than it is a non-issue.
