A GuestI destroyed my last basket by over-loading it. I don't see myself having this problem with this rack, it's very sturdy! It fits 2 paper grocery bags or my freight backpack very easily. Installing it was a bit of a hassle but my friend/bike mechanic was able to bend/drill-out the bits and make it work with my set up.
I love not having to carry any weight on my back, it's heavy but well worth it if you find yourself toting around a lot of stuff like I do to school and work. Tree Fort bikes had this the cheapest of anywhere I could find and they shipped it quickly!

seraphan6This front rack / basket is well-made and comes with good mounting hardware. It is very large and pretty heavy, so you wouldn't want to take this on a long ride or up a lot of hills. It works really well for picking up some groceries or a case of beer. Two twelve-packs of bottles fit in it quite nicely, though you will want to use a cargo net to secure them in the basket. Note the bottle opener built into the front of the rack. I won't be leaving this on my bike all the time, but probably more often than not. Fortunately, it's not too difficult to mount and remove when you don't need it.

njf...@us...y.netHelp! Please somebody build a bike around this rack! I is a great rack, soild, sturdy, roomy, ect, but 40#? Yes the rack will take it, but the three little screws holding it to your bike?
This rack cries out for a big solid bike and someone who is not afraid of a little weight. Which is reasonable, this rack is for serious hauling on a bike made for serious hauling.

A GuestThis rack is a beast, built very sturdy and great craftsmanship. As for weight, it is heavy, but my wife has no problem with steering even when it's loaded.
The only thing I would change is the spacing between the rails, a full size orange could roll out of the gaps... but I guess that's what bags are for.

chrisvoltaJust installed this on my girlfriends bike. She was kind of hesitant to have a basket on her bike but once it was on there she loved it. Little heavy but not too bad, though I may be the one lifting her bike up to the hanging rack from now on. Solid construction, and the beer opener is more of a gimmick than anything but it does open a bottle of beer. Overall great product for the price!
