Maxxis Minion DHR II 29" in
3C MaxxGrip with the
New DH casing is a purpose-built rear mountain bike tire for riders who prioritize braking control, cornering support, and predictable handling on aggressive trail, enduro, and downhill terrain. Borrowing the proven side knob concept from the Minion DHF (and widening it for added support), the DHR II delivers confident grip when the bike is leaned over, while the paddle-shaped center tread is tuned to bite under hard braking without feeling vague through transitions.
Designed for modern speeds and impacts, the
New DH casing adds puncture protection and durability while improving compliance over chattery rocks and roots. This progressive casing stiffness is intended to run slightly lower pressures than prior DH casings (often 2–3 psi less, depending on rider, rim, and conditions) to achieve a more planted, damped ride feel. The
E-25 rating supports use on e-bikes up to 25 km/h where applicable, making it a strong option for gravity-focused eMTB setups as well.
- 3C MaxxGrip compound - Maxxis’ stickiest, slowest-rebound rubber for maximum traction and control in steep, technical conditions
- DHR II braking edges - Paddle-style center knobs dig in under deceleration for better speed control and reduced skittering on loose-over-hard surfaces
- Ramped center tread - Ramped leading edges improve rolling feel and help the tire carry speed between braking zones
- Siped tread blocks - Enhances knob deformation for smoother, more predictable transitions when leaning the bike
- Minion channel-cut side knobs - Widened, supported shoulder knobs increase cornering stability under high loads
- New DH casing - More puncture protection and durability with improved compliance over rocks and roots for better support in hard cornering and impacts
