I'd like to put these on my Surly Big Fat Dummy. The build comes with WTB Scraper i40 ST TCS wheels. Will these fit? If not, can you recommend a slicker tire that might? The bike came with 29 x 3.0 Dirt Wizards, but these are too knobby for everyday riding. Thanks.

You can probably put them on the rims, however they might lower the bike enough to make pedal strike an issue.
Vee Tire does make a Speedster in a 29x2.8 which would be a better choice.

Are these flat free
A.
anwered by: canteau
Aside from a solid rubber tire, no tire is going to be 100% flat free. The Maxxis Hookworm does have a durable casing that is designed to mitigate pinch flats, and the thicker nature of the rubber does help with punctures, but there is not a flat protection belt like some of the commuter tires we sell from Continental and Schwalbe.

Is there such thing as a 26 X 2.0"?
A.
anwered by: canteau
Maxxis may have offered the Hookworm in a 26x2.0" at one time but it is not a size we currently have access to.

They should fit on the rims, you may have some issues with frame clearance.

A GuestDecent tire for a fair price. A bit weighty. Added a lot of comfort to the ride on my already comfortable Salsa Fargo.

anonymousI love these tires and treefort bikes provided them at a great price and great service with fast delivery! I am building a custom GT bicycles timberline 29" 24 speed mountain bike to be used in an urban environment which is why I chose the hookworm tires as they are not knobby dirt tires they're perfect for asphalt and concrete.

anonymousI have used on both my Surly Ogre for summer touring and my Giant Talon 29er for winter riding. Smooth on the pavement, corner well, manage snow but also robust enough for dirt roads and trails. They are big and bouncy!
