Maxxis Assegai is a 27.5 x 2.5 mountain bike tire built for aggressive trail, enduro, and downhill riding where braking control and cornering predictability matter most in mixed conditions.

Tread design targets confident grip on loose-over-hard surfaces and technical terrain, with knob height positioned between the Minion DHR II and Shorty. Ramped center knobs help keep rolling resistance in check, while a small transition knob between the center and side lugs smooths the handoff when leaning the bike—reducing that vague “on/off” feel in corners. The result is a front tire that stays composed over slippery roots and rocks when traction is hard to read.
