Carter Excavator 26 x 2.35 Folding

The Excavator is a tire I have been always wanting to try. I have my bike setup tubless and have 2.35 excavators in front and rear. As a rear tire it grips great probably just as good if not better than my highroller. This tire offer pretty good braking power. On the front I find it to slip a little when compared to the 2.4 inch purgatory I was running. I ride in so cal so conditions are usually loose and very dry.

I'm an East Coast rider and constantly searching for the perfect blend of perfect traction with minimal weight and rolling resistance and the 2.35 Excavator is as close to that as I've found. I'm using it as a rear tire on my trail bike with a 2.35 Nevegal on the front and the combo strikes a great balance. I have about 10 hours on the combo now and love how it grips over wet roots, rocks and logs. It can be broken loose, but it takes some sloppy riding and it lets you know well in advance when it's going to let go.
