It should the most common 1" quill stems are marked 22.2mm (7/8") to fit inside of the 1" fork.
Some older department store bikes like Huffy, Murray and FreeSpirit use a 21.15mm (13/16") stem due to their poorer quality materials and need for a thicker steerer tube. These stems are no longer available
