Just want to make sure that drop bars will mount ok on this.
A.
anwered by: canteau
They will if they are a 25.4mm clamp which is the sized commonly used by flat bars.
The top of the bar also needs to be round and the oversized wing style bars need a stem with an open clamp.

How's the 180mm measured. Bot to top? Min insert to top of quill? Min insert to clamp
A.

These are measured from the minimum insertion line to the top of the stem.

A GuestOver all well made with good finish. The 25.4 bar clamp did not fit well, took a lot of torque to clamp the bar securely. However, very good value as long as you keep in mind this a utility stem, not high-end.

rfg...@be...h.netI like the angle of this quill stem. Keeps the handle bars up higher. It appears solid. Have installed Kalloy products in the past.
My only disappointment is when the quill stem arrived some of the finish had rubbed off. I noticed when I was fitting the part on my vintage road bike conversion, more of the finish came off inserting the quill in the steerer tube.
Otherwise this quill stem worked out.

sdlovelessGets the bar nice and high without looking awful in the process.

abchurchKalloy quill stems are my go-to affordable alternative to Nitto. When my goal is to build a really good all-round urban curb jumper, Kalloy stems keep the price down and the quality high! It's important to know what reach and angle measurements you want, there is absolute minimal adjustment available (as with any quill stem). This is maybe my 5th or 6th Kalloy stem, never had a dud!!

rus...@gm...l.comI love this stem. I got it in the 80mm extension and silver. The finish is excellent and paired with v/o portuer bars it turns a tri bike into a city bike.

A GuestGets those bars up where you want 'em, and at a bargain price.

EssthreeteeI bought this to get a little rise out of my stem and yet keep the look of a quill stem. This one fit the bill. In fact I bought a second for a different bike.

A Guestso I got this as a replacement for a stem on my '86 trek 400 road bike- first off I gotta say after riding the bike for about a year after installing it- I find my road bike feeling more like a hybrid bike- something at the time I liked however now, I dislike how tall my bars are- leaving me with the only option to change the stem out to one which isn't so tall and (bringing me to my 2nd point) more fitting on a road bike- yes this will work on any bike so long as the sizing is right but this stem is really meant for mountain bikes- I will, however, use it on my Schwinn High Serria build however my trek is getting a Nitto Young 3 stem soon as I can doublecheck my length with my fitter. overall I didn't care for the large UNO logo- which i polished off- the stem feels solid- if maybe a little heavy(partly why I came on here I'm trying to find out its weight) So in my case this wasn't the stem for me- BUT is an excellent stem for the price and would recommend and use again on another project
