I added this bell to my mountain bike. I ride my bike really early in the morning. I'm always first at the trail and most of the time, I run into turkeys, deer, raccoons, etc. I find this bell useful to warn the animals that I'm coming. This bell is loud. It sometimes echoes in the middle of the woods. The bell is small and can easily be concealed. I have not been warned yet by Mr. Park Ranger but I find this equipment an essential part of my bike.
