trailmakerThe Strokers are stylish, powerful, have good modulation, and the barrel adjuster for reach is really handy. I'm still twiddling with the entire setup on my New Niner RIP9, including the brakes. I always use 8" front rotors, and took a guess that I wanted a 6" on the back. My assumption was correct, as the 7" I installed (couldn't find 6" adapters to work here) is a bit too powerful. That speaks to the power of the brake in general, yet the are not touchy or grabby like some brands are. The front is a little "juddery" but I think this is due to the rotor pattern.
Frankly, I've used nothing but Hayes brakes because they are far less expensive than anything else. They also happen to work just fine, thank you. I can't imagine other brands offering enough improvement over these to warrant the much higher price. These work!
