The 14 and 19mm spacers allow for chainline adjustment and the shape of the spacers themselves add a nice finished look to your conversion.

asked by: a guest im running a 7 speed kona, just curious if this would work
A.
anwered by: mlewis Hi, a 7 speed freehub is narrower than an 8/9 speed freehub, so this won't work for you. I'd look at a singlespeed kit that comes with smaller spacers like the Surly (search item 333222338205)

asked by: a guest Would this work if I were to convert an ~8 year old Cypress Giant?
A.
anwered by: canteau Most Cypress models use a freewheel rear wheel, if you have one of those this will not work without a new rear cassette wheel. Should you happen to have a Cypress that has an 8/9 speed rear cassette this will work great!

asked by: a guest will this fit Shimano uniglide hubs?
A.
anwered by: canteau This conversion kit is designed to be used with a Shimano Hyperglide (HG) freehub style freehub body. The spline on the Uniglide (UG) is slightly different and is not compatible.

This is installed on my Shimano XT wheelset that I use on a Voodoo single speed mtb. I like this spacer kit. It only uses two spacers, but they are different sizes so you can switch them to match up the better chain line. The two spacers make for a cleaner look, and it is really easy to install. The only thing I don't like is the cog, it seems kind of cheap. I didn't have any problems with it, but a Surly or Niner cog will be much stronger. I've ridden this spacer kit on about 1000 mi of single track and had no problems. Highly reccomended!
I like the spacers, nice clean look. But the stamped cogs stick to my 9 spd chain. My singleator bobs around and loses tension as a result. I ordered different cogs to run with this spacer kit instead.
Summed up: Great looking conversion kit, wish the cogs were better quality.

This is the second time I've purchased and used this kit to convert a 9 speed Shimano Cassette to single speed. It essentially replaces the 9sp cassette with a single cog (either 16t or 18t) and it has easy to use spacers. It's simple to place and works great! I've used both on road and mountain applications.
