Tricon XM1550 26" Rear Wheel - 10mm Thru Bolt

The DT Swiss Tricon XM1550 wheels have almost too many great features to list. DT Swiss lays a great foundation with the Tricon hubs. These hubs feature high precision bearings and a three pice hub. The bearings are held in a hub shell and the flanges are separate pieces. This allows DT Swiss to increase the spoke tension by about 18% for their Tricon wheels. With separate flanges and hub body the higher tension does not affect the bearings. The higher tension makes for an insanely strong wheel. Powering the rear is the patented DT Swiss Star-Ratchet system.

Moving out from the hubs we've got 24 cold forged, double butted DT Swiss double threaded straight pull Aerolite spokes. The spokes are laced in an open crowfoot pattern, where crossed and radially laced spokes are combined for maximum power transfer and strength. Top it all off with ProLock nipples and you have an unbelievably strong wheel.

The rims feature DT Swiss'' Strength Boost Welding technology, where two small plates are inseted into the rim before welding. The rim is then machined after welding for ultimate joint strength. Finally, DT Swiss uses a closed rim bed so that this wheel is fully tubeless compatible. These are some of the best wheels available anywhere.
