The main feature of these wheels are the hubs.  They use precision Tricon hubs with the patented DT Swiss Star Ratchet system so you get quick engagement, fast rolling, and good durability.  The spokes also lace to the hubs in an "open crowfoot" pattern with combined radial and crossed spokes for high stiffness and perfect transmission of power when you need a little extra boost on the road.  The DT Swiss R1700 is a jack of all trades, and a master of them all.
