The patented threadlock system applies a two-component adhesive to the nipple thread. When the nipple is screwed onto the spoke, the glue is activated and fully hardens at room temperature within 6 - 7 hours. Repeated retruing is possible.
With DT Swiss Pro Lock nipples the connection between spoke an nipple cannot loosen, tension is maintained. Internal tests show that a wheel using DT Swiss Pro Lock nipples outlives the same wheel built with standard nipples by a factor of 20.
