Possible replacements for the
Fluid 2 Trainer
---- Archived Product Data ----
The CycleOps Fuild 2 Trainer is an ideal trainer for in door riding. Designed with Power Band technology, the resistance unit is a fluid resivoir that expands or contracts while your wheel spins the spindle, providing a realistic feel that allows you to shift similarly to how you would on the road or trail. To increase or decrease resistance, simply shift into the desired gear on the bike, and the trainer will adapt.
The Fluid 2 has some key upgrades from other fluid trainers on the market:
- A larger, heavier flywheel provides a road-like ride feel
- The Quick-Lock bike mount makes a quick and simple way to get the bike on and off the trainer
- Advanced cooling mechanism provides increased life and durability
- Allows for power output anywhere from 20 to over 725 watts
- Fits 26", 27", and 700c wheels
- Includes CTS training DVD
- Comes with a lifetime warranty, so you know this is a trainer built to last
The spinde generates lots of heat, so to avoid burning through standard tires quickly, use a trainer tire on the rear wheel of the bike.

qdacuttaIt's the only indoor trainer I've used, but every triathlete in Brooklyn recommended it along with the Kurt Kinetic, which was more expensive. It was easy to assemble, it folds and stores easily. It's quiet, and I get a great workout on my own bike. Not really sure what else these things can offer, besides the super expensive ones that have power meters. Couldn't ask for anything else. I did order the Cycleops climbing block - without it the ride was a bit uncomfortable because of the downward angle.

A GuestThree times a week on this will have me riding riding the trails stronger and faster this spring. I set it up in front of a TV with a small fan blowing on me and 40 to 60 minutes goes by quickly. It's very smooth and quiet too.
A few minutes to put it together, a few minutes to put on a Kenda K838 commuter/urban tire, a few minutes to get things adjusted and I was pedaling in less than a half hour.

A GuestIt's really quiet (as promised), stable, and a great workout on your very own bike. The instruction book was a little hard to follow, but as you can see I figured it out.

dgastQuiet and sturdy, but I was expecting to be able to get more resistance. I can't reproduce a steep hill climb. I can still work up a sweat and keep in biking shape during the off season.
