Thanks for the quick response and I do agree that the rim width will affect the measured tire width.
I asked because I run Schwalbe Racing Ralph EVO in a 33 and a Kenda Slant Six in a 33 but both tires measure out quite differently on the same rim. The Kenda tends to run narrow while the Schwalbe measures out wider. Both mounted to American Classic TCX rims and setup tubeless...

I ran these tubeless on Stans Apha 340 Team wheels with Orange Seal sealant in the Hilly Billy Roubaix gravel race last year. They worked fine BUT BE VERY CAREFUL when seating them. If you go beyond 55 psi they CAN and very well may blow off the rim. It did for me and took the wheel out of true and damaged the tire so much that it wasn't safe to ride (severe tire hop-throw away) A non-tubeless tire relies on the tube to shape the tire and keep the bead in the rim.

Returns need to come back to us in a new and resellable condition, so the question to ask is would you consider tires that someone else had mounted as new?
